Projects and programmes we have been involved in include the following.
Our experience includes leading and managing projects in the Russian Federation and in other East European countries, drawing on many years of experience in health, housing and social care in the UK.
Consultancy and Expert assistance for Schools for Health in Europe (SHE). Includes working closely with the manager of SHE and SHE planning committees in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Edinburgh and other locations since its inception in 2007.
Consultancy for World Health Organisation. Includes work as a WHO Regional Office consultant for the European Health Promoting Schools Network. Missions include facilitation, rapporteur, advice, progress report writing, and interpretation. Includes work conducted in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2006, Sigriswil, Switzerland and Peebles, Scotland during 2005. Includes joint consultancy for NHS Health Scotland.
Project Management and Long Term EU Expertise for EU TACIS Programme Preventive Health Education for Schools in the Russian Federation. Based in Moscow, with responsibility for four other regions: Pskov, Tatarstan, Chuvashia and Rostov-on-Don. Responsible for leading team of EU experts and Russian staff and for building partnerships with Russian ministries, schools, health and educational professionals and with European Commission Delegation in Moscow. Visiting lectures for Moscow Humanitarian and Pedagogical Institute on topic of health promoting schools and preventing violence and bullying in schools in Russia.
Consultancy, research and training for DFID funded project, Mental Health and Self Help Groups (RUS 017) on behalf of Gamian Europe and Psychiatric Reform NGO Moscow, Public Initiatives in Psychiatry.
Consultancy, research and training for DFID funded project, Promoting Health Among Disadvantaged Young People At Risk (RUS 006), working with Russian NGOs and UK NGO. Other partners include Russian Federation Ministries of Health and Education. Including research and fact finding with government agencies and NGOs in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Budget Holder and Project Coordinator of the DFID funded project, Promoting And Improving Health In Tver’s Penal System (RUS 052). Working with Russian health partners and NGOs, Tver Oblast Prison Health Care Administration, Tver Regional AIDS Centre and Scottish Partners Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board Department of Health Improvement and Her Majesty’s Prison Kilmarnock.
Armenia This work involved proposal writing, project planning and development, needs assessments, the delivery of hands on training and the provision of facilitation and research for Armenian NGOs and other groups based in Yerevan. Developmental work has resulted from this experience.
Consultancy for Armenian NGOs Tatev 95 and Mental Health Foundation (Armenia) project, Promoting Health Among Young People At Risk. This project is under development.
Romania Experience here includes fact finding, meeting with key contacts in the NGO and professional sectors, meeting with users and examining model projects in Bucarest. Includes presentation of research at an international mental health conference in Sinaia.
Partner, consultancy, research and training for EU funded educational project , Supporting Parents with Children with Mental Health problems in Romania.Work was conducted with a Romanian-based NGO to develop a parenting project funded by the EU.
Bulgaria This work involved a combination of 'hands on' training and research with local NGOs attempting to develop health services, including developing community-based mental health services in Bulgaria. Included visits to Bulgarian mental health facilities and hospitals.
Bulgaria Needs assessment and other work with local NGOs and their staff, as well as service users and their families, in Sofia, Plovdiv and Targovishte in Bulgaria. Including Roma communities and representative NGOs.
Tanzania This work consisted of promoting policy change and the development of culturally sensitive services for people with mental health problems. This involved fact finding and meeting with a wide range of stake holders, including policy makers, professionals and NGOs.

Promoting Health and Preventing Blood-Borne Virus Infections in Russian Prisons: Tver Oblast Prison Authorities; Tver Oblast Health Service; Tver Regional Aids Centre; and Tver based NGOs.
